I'm from Missouri

This site is named for the famous statement of US Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver from Missouri : "I`m from Missouri -- you'll have to show me." This site is dedicated to skepticism of official dogma in all subjects. Just-so stories are not accepted here. This is a site where controversial subjects such as evolution theory and the Holocaust may be freely debated.

My biggest motivation for creating my own blogs was to avoid the arbitrary censorship practiced by other blogs and various other Internet forums. Censorship will be avoided in my blogs -- there will be no deletion of comments, no closing of comment threads, no holding up of comments for moderation, and no commenter registration hassles. Comments containing nothing but insults and/or ad hominem attacks are discouraged. My non-response to a particular comment should not be interpreted as agreement, approval, or inability to answer.

Another quote mine

An AOL news article on the honeybee genome research project says,

"This DNA sequence is a major step toward answering a basic question of social evolution: at the genomic level, what does it take to engineer an advanced colonial insect?" said Edward Wilson, of Harvard University in a commentary on the research.

"Engineer"? A Freudian slip? The above quote is another entry for those books "That Their Words May Be Used Against Them" and "Handy Dandy Evolution Refuter."

I see that posts with which you disagree are disappearing again. What a hypocrite!

> ViW, it seems unlikely to me that Larry(?) is deleting your posts. <

That is possible but on what do you base it other than your demonstrated need to grasp at straws to defend your brother?

> What happened exactly? <

A message I posted on the blog disappeared about an hour later. Anonymous complained a week or more ago of a similar occurance. It could be a technical problem but if that were the case I would think that Larry(?) would deny responsibility, as he has for previous blogger problems.

Larry(?) has been unusually silent in recent days. Perhaps he realizes that most of his replies only dig him deeper into the holes he makes with his articles.

I have not been deleting your messages, VIW, though messages such as yours would be deleted by many if not most bloggers. Most of your messages are breathtakingly inane -- just saying that I am wrong without saying why -- and many attack me personally.

Naturally, answering your complaint about having problems posting messages here was not a priority with me.

You seem to be talking about yourself. I almost always say why you are wrong and you seem to be blind to it. As to personal attacks, you are always the one to start them.

My complaint was not about a problem with posting. I was a problem with messages, once posted and appearing an hour later not appearing two hours later.

> When Larry(?) has deleted messages, he has announced it <

At least sometimes he has done that.

> It's likely he is even unable to remove a post without leaving that message. <

It is possible. We really don't know.

> If he were deleting messages based on content, why would he leave many unflattering ones up (including the one above)? <

The ones that have disappeared are very mild. The most unflattering stuff is what he posts himself. He makes himself appear to be a lunatic.

> He has made such a big deal about Freedom of Speech. He is not that unserious, as to flout the principle so brazenly. <

He has also made a big deal about not having ad-homonyms but he is the biggest practicioner of those.

> He has flat-out denied it every time he's been asked. <

I don't think that his honesty has been established. He often believes he is telling the truth when he is only describing his delusions.
