I'm from Missouri

This site is named for the famous statement of US Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver from Missouri : "I`m from Missouri -- you'll have to show me." This site is dedicated to skepticism of official dogma in all subjects. Just-so stories are not accepted here. This is a site where controversial subjects such as evolution theory and the Holocaust may be freely debated.

"Free David Irving" Petition

David Irving is a British historian who is serving a three-year prison sentence in Austria for holocaust denial, which is a crime in that country. I am very disturbed when I think that there are several countries where I could be jailed for some of the articles I have posted on this blog. I urge readers to sign an online "Free David Irving" petition. Also, the Austrian Consulate General offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York may be contacted at the followng email addresses (I suggest also urging repeal of the law under which Irving was convicted):

chicago-gk@bmaa.gv.at,
los-angeles-gk@bmaa.gv.at,
new-york-gk@bmaa.gv.at,
info@austria-ny.org

The right of free expression that you save could be your own.

Very few. You have not denied the holocaust. You have just make ridiculous complaints as to the accuracy of some of the numbers.

The exact numbers are of no consequence and I doubt if any government would find your trivial arguments threatening.

I am a holocaust revisionist. I have raised serious doubts about official holocaust history. I have suggested that official figures on the total number of victims and the percentage who were Jews may be grossly exaggerated. Because I have not denied the holocaust outright, I would probably receive clemency from a court. Irving was eligible for ten years in prison but received only three years because he recanted statements that he made 17 years ago.

Official holocaust historians themselves have raised doubts as to the accuracy of the numbers. For decades, the official death tolls for Auschwitz ranged from 1 to 4 million. Even today, the variation in official figures is wide, from 1 to 1.5 million (the latter figure is on a plaque at Auschwitz).

>>>>>The exact numbers are of no consequence <<<<<<

That depends on what you call "exact." When I say that we have no idea what the correct numbers are, that is of big consequence.

Anyway, even many who believe that Irving was wrong about the holocaust are opposed to his imprisonment because (1) freedom of speech is being violated and/or (2) the imprisonment makes a martyr out of him.

1. Your doubts do not indicate a serious problem. So far your points have been trivial.

2. There are no such things as "official figures". The differences you have cited are of no consequence. You seem to be the only one thick enough not to understand this.

> the percentage who were Jews <

Irrelevant.

> Official holocaust historians <

Do not exist.

> the official death tolls <

Do not exist.

> from 1 to 1.5 million <

An insignificant difference. The point is that a huge number of Jews, and others, were slaughtered. The precise number is of no consequence.

Had your ancestors been German Jews, rather than Russian Jews, as they were, they would have had little chance of survival without escaping Germany. Would you have been happier if only your parents would be killed rather than both your parents and grandparents? This is the significance of the numerical differences.
