I'm from Missouri

This site is named for the famous statement of US Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver from Missouri : "I`m from Missouri -- you'll have to show me." This site is dedicated to skepticism of official dogma in all subjects. Just-so stories are not accepted here. This is a site where controversial subjects such as evolution theory and the Holocaust may be freely debated.

My biggest motivation for creating my own blogs was to avoid the arbitrary censorship practiced by other blogs and various other Internet forums. Censorship will be avoided in my blogs -- there will be no deletion of comments, no closing of comment threads, no holding up of comments for moderation, and no commenter registration hassles. Comments containing nothing but insults and/or ad hominem attacks are discouraged. My non-response to a particular comment should not be interpreted as agreement, approval, or inability to answer.

Yet another Darwin-to-Hitler book!

I have already discussed two Darwin-to-Hitler books on this blog, in Book links Darwin to Hitler and Another book links Darwin to Hitler. Now I have discovered yet another Darwin-to-Hitler book: From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics, and Racism in Germany. This book is discussed on Panda's Thumb.

I wonder why Anti-Defamation League national director Abraham Foxman recently had a conniption fit over the Coral Ridge Ministries' TV special titled "Darwin's Deadly Legacy", which linked Darwin to Hitler. One would think that Foxman would be accustomed to this stuff by now.

Yes. The desperation of the creationists has grown to the point that such nonsense is all that they seem to have left.

I notice that you are posting more and more inconsequential articles to distract how badly your butt was being kicked in the previous debates.

Of course, it goes withou saying that the Nazis banned libraries in Germany from stocking books on Darwinism

Books to be banned included :-

'Schriften weltanschaulichen und lebenskundlichen Charakters, deren Inhalt die falsche naturwissenschaftliche Aufklärung eines primitiven Darwinismus und Monismus ist (Häckel)'

You are wasting your time. While Larry(?)'s brother Dave, their father, and I read German, Larry(?), with his arrested development, still doesn't read English.

Darwinism arguably influenced the Nazis indirectly even if the Nazis banned Darwinist books. For example, the Nazis got some of their inspiration from American eugenicists who were apparently influenced by Darwinism or social Darwinism. This is discussed in my article titled "Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory -- birthplace of the holocaust?"

Nazi anti-Semitism was arguably not really a eugenicist movement, because the Nazis targeted Jews who were mentally and physically fit. For example, one of the first acts of the Nazis after coming to power was to fire Jewish civil servants, including many professionals.

Anyway, what I object to most strongly is ADL national chairman Abraham Foxman's effort to discourage discussion of the issue. His sole argument was that Hitler did not "need" Darwin. "O', reason not the need!" --- King Lear

You stupid, fatheaded ignorarmus, AOL has translation software that translates whole sentences. The translation of the Haeckel title is:

"Writings of world-clear and lebenskundlichen character whose contents are the wrong scientific clarification of a primitive Darwinism and Monismus"

I couldn't find a translation for lebenskundlichen or any of its parts.

I was only pointing out that you are the only one involved that seems to need this crutch.

Larry,

You should see yourself as the source of all ad hominems on this blog. To date every one has either been initiated by you or has been a frustrated response to your failure (no doubt due to inability) to answer pointed questions.

Your claims that your opponents do not challenge your material directly are absurd as shown by the great deal of unanswered challenges still shown on this blog.

If you can't answer a question of debate successfully against a point that they have made, just remain silent. Don't make a fool out of yourself by pretending that your opponents are not winning the debates.

Why not attempt to take the high road and raise the level of this blog. You are the one lowering its quality with your childishness. In the old days I would suggest that you sit in the corner.

You are full of crap, Sherry D.. I directly answer far more comments than most other bloggers. The ones that I don't answer don't need or deserve an answer.

You in particular have made no worthwhile contribution to the discussions here.

I suppose that anything that shows the vacuity of your position doesn't deserve an answer? I think that you answer everything that you think you can. There is just not much that you can.

She has been a great asset to this blog. She really has you pegged. This is no doubt due to her experience with third graders.
